 Services & Pricing - Smaller Event Hosting 

2021 HOSTING FOR COMMUNITY EVENTS:  What's Included when we host your party, company party or other simple event?

* Access to the Onion Barn Reception Hall.

* In good weather, access to the north lawn, with lots of room for lawn games and outdoor activities. 

* Table Seating (tables and chairs) for up to 150 people in the warmer months or 120 in the off-season (Nov-Apr).  No need to set up tables & chairs or take them down afterward (unless some are used outdoors).  We’ll set them up for you before you arrive.    

* Catering prep area (not a full kitchen).  Hire a caterer or choose to self-cater.

* 10-foot bar with double-tap kegerator and two wine refrigerators.  Have your alcohol catered or provide your own. (See our Alcohol policy).

* Rustic wine-barrel-&-plank-top buffet table.   

* Huge dance floor:  Up to 28-ft x 55-ft (1,540 sq ft).  (The size of the dance floor depends upon the number of tables needed.)

* Space for a band or DJ near the dance floor with excellent power support and good acoustics.  

* Huge disco/mirror ball above the dance floor.  

* Large screen TV for slide show or presentations. 

* Lectern (without mic).

* Use of the fire pit, which is encircled by hay bale seating during the warmer months.  Blankets cover the hay bales for comfort.  Edison-style bare bulb lighting adds ambiance in the evening.

* 3-stall luxury-style bathroom trailer with porcelain fixtures, flush toilets, running water, beautiful interior, heat/air conditioning, and music.  

* Meet with our Venue Coordinator to:
   -- budget your on-site time,
   -- plan for your outside vendors' needs, and
   -- plan the best use of venue space. 

* On-site attendant throughout the event.

* We don’t require that you use specific vendors (catering, music, etc).  Choose your own or we can recommend pros who’ve worked here before and provided an excellent service. 

* The barn is insulated and heated, perfect for off-season events.  For comfort during hot weather, we have excellent wind flow throughout the building, which formerly served as a drying barn.  Large overhead circulating fans draw the heat up and out in the summer or push it back down during the winter.   

* This package includes four hours for your event plus two hours for set-up/clean-up (6 hrs onsite).  Additional time is $125-150 per hour, if needed, depending on the season.

Smaller-Event Hosting Rates

Rates are based on a four-hour event, with one hour for set-up and one hour for take-down/clean up.  (So a four-hour event would involve up to six hours onsite.)  

WARMER SEASON (May thru October) 

Saturday or Sunday (Due to the busy wedding season, there is typically little or no availability for smaller events from June through September.)  

If available:  4-Hour event with 2-hrs set-up/clean-up (6 hrs onsite):  $1,350

additional time:  $150/hr

COOLER SEASON (November - April)

Saturday or Sunday

4-Hour event with 2-hrs set-up/clean-up
(6 hrs onsite):  

additional event hours:  $125/hr

Optional Add-Ons
If we host your event at Heart of Rock Farm, you can add other services offered by Heart of Rock DJ and Parson Phil at a considerable discount over what we charge if we were working outside of our own facility.

Al a carte options:

In-House Catering Hire your own caterer our use our in-house services.  Catering provided by Flour Power Catering.  Special menu and pricing for events at Heart of Rock Farm.  

In-House Pro DJ Service Bring in your own band or DJ, or add Heart of Rock DJ (DJ Lisa) to your contract.  (Lisa has 20+ years experience as an event DJ.) 

  $500 - $900
depending on length of event and other details.

PA Hook-Up:  Connect your IPOD or laptop to our sound system.  Your music attendant will manage music and volume from your device and will not have direct access to the sound equipment controls.  (Music files must be stored on your device, not streamed.)  Microphone included for announcements.  Dance floor/disco lighting is also included.  (This option keeps you from having to rent, transport and set up your own PA system, microphone and lighting.)



Memorial and Remembrance ServicesOur own Parson Phil is available to conduct your service. 

Photo Booth:  Open-style photo booth with props.  75-100 prints, including a custom print background, personalized with your message.  Fun for everyone, and perfect for creating keepsakes for yourself and your guests.  You'll get a digital copy of all photo files to take home.  

Quantity of prints can be increased for an additional fee.


Table Linens:  Tablecloth & runner or topper $10 per table 
                            Napkins (8 per table) $2 per table

Table SettingsVintage-style mismatched china table settings are available for groups of up to 150.

Option:  Clear-glass dishes (instead of china) are available for groups up to 125 people. 

   A:  Dinner plate & silverware, and dessert plate & fork (if needed):  $10 per table of 8
   B:  Salad or appetizer plates & forks:  $2 per table of 8
   C:  Wine glasses (etched with romantic phrases) or Mason mugs:  $2 per table of 8
   D:  Gold-tone chargers:  $3 per table of 8

Dinner plates can be staged at the buffet table for rustic efficiency, or you can set your tables for an elegant touch. 

You bus, we wash.

We'd love to show you around and talk to you about your event.  We also host dances at Heart of Rock Farm about once a month, so be sure to ask about that.  It gives you a chance to see the building full of people and try out the dance floor.

COVID-19 Update

We're still hanging in there!  By working closely with our current batch of amazing wedding couples and keeping a sharp eye on the future, we're confident Heart of Rock Farm will survive these "interesting" times. 

Wedding planning is a major challenge for all right now, but we've got to move forward with confidence.  For planning purposes, we're anticipating the possible need to reschedule our early-summer weddings for 2021, which will mean fewer available dates next year unless things change; but at this point our current clients have to be our priority. 

* Current guidelines limit events to 25 people with adequate space for social distancing, so we're working with our couples to reschedule the near-term events that exceed those numbers. 

* We ARE booking for 2021...(continued on back)


 * We ARE booking for 2021 on a limited basis and still conducting abreviated (or virtual) tours by appointment.  Limit of 2 adult participants of the same household for the on-site tour, but you're welcome to use Facetime or another program to include others virtually.  We're practicing appropriate safety precautions before, during and after visits. 

* Planning meetings for current clients can be by phone, with a full walk-through to finalize details later when things ease up.

* Barn Dances are on hold until this winter.
