Meet Haley Smith.
Haley will be serving up the champagne at our Open House on April 14th. If you’re still searching for an OLCC-permitted server for your wedding, Haley is the gal you’re going to want to meet.
Haley has been bartending for eleven years and has worked many events, including the Oregon Brewfest, private brewery events, private parties, and formal art events. She has worked at Keystone Kafe and Speakeasy for almost eight years. She has the knowledge, experience and people skills to prevent over-serving guests while keeping the event safe and fun for everyone.
Haley is continuously involved in Oregon's beer culture and obtained her first-level Cicerone Certification (pronounced "sis-uh-rohn"), which is a program that seeks to ensure consumers receive the best quality beer at every service occasion. By completing the course, Haley gained greater knowledge in categories such as:
By immersing herself as a beer buyer at a small brewery for over a year, she made some wonderful friendships with local breweries in the area.
“I would love to be able to help my clients find the right beer or cider that is perfect to pair with the food being served at their event, as well as what would be best for the demographic of their guests,” she said.
To us, Haley is more than just a beer whiz. She and husband Carter are a pair of newlyweds who tied the knot at Heart of Rock Farm last year. We’re pretty excited to get to continue the relationship by connecting Haley with our next generation of wedding couples.
Haley and Carter are avid home brewers with a love for fermenting honey into Mead, one of mankind's oldest known alcoholic beverages. Haley said, “We love to try new things and broaden our horizons in an ever changing world of fermentation.”
