Barbecue Information (from the original invitation)

We're hoping folks will start arriving about 4:00 so we can show you around before dinner.  We plan on eating about 5:00.  This isn't a potluck, so you don't need to bring food.  We'll have beer and wine, and mixers available for anyone who wants to bring anything harder.  Lawn chairs are welcome for outdoor visiting.  We'll have a horseshoe pit and some other outdoor activities ready.

Wedding cake comes later, and dancing for as long as anyone wants to hang out.

RSVP is optional if you plan to drop in late for dancing, but we need a headcount for dinner by July 6th.  You can send us a quick email at DjLisaHahn@gmail.com or call (503) 309-0318.  Let us know if you're bringing someone.

We're both looking forward to a good time with lots of friends.  Hope you can make it.

Open House: Come see our new place!

Heart of Rock Farm

We bought this place about a year ago, and we've been working like crazy to get it ready.  It took several months' of work before we could even move in.  Once the house was livable we started working on the old onion barn, which we're turning into an event facility.  Although we're not done yet, this party gives us a chance to "break it in".  We had hoped to host a party last year but there was just still too much to do by the end of summer.  We're far enough along, finally, for own party and we're not far away from being able to host non-wedding events for others.  Weddings are about another year off.

The onion barn, which is where we're holding the party, is 7,600 square feet.  About half of it will be our shop and the rest will be the venue.  We hope to have outdoor features for weddings, such as a gazebo and patio, in place by next summer.   We have a 21' x 30' dance floor and seating for about 50, and a loft DJ booth.  We're planning to set aside room for a band to set up, and before long we'll have a barbecue deck in place.  We won't have a full kitchen, but we'll be set up for potlucks and catered-in meals.

The location is pretty unique.  We're surrounded on three sides by the wildlife refuge (no chance of anyone ever building there) and a filbert orchard on the remaining side.  Our dirt-road driveway is almost a quarter-mile long.  Once you're here, it feels like you're way out in the country, but we're actually just outside the Sherwood city limits.  To the East we have a beautiful territorial view of Mt. Hood.  In the winter, the wetlands flood and the water comes nearly to our property line.  It's beautiful...like living on a lake.  The ducks and geese are our only neighbors, and there are plenty of them.

Check out the photos on our "About Us" page...you'll see how much progress we've made in a year!

Wedding Photos

An April 9th we eloped to Virginia City, NV, for an "old West" style wedding in the town where Bonanza was filmed.  Even the wedding dress was vintage.  We made our way through an unexpected blizzard to get there, so it was quite an exciting trip.

Virginia City is an old mining town up in the mountains, and the Silver Queen Hotel, where we stayed, is still very similar to the way it was 100 years ago. In fact, the whole town is.  The hotel's name came from a 15-foot painting that stands in the lobby, The Silver Queen.  Her dress is made of 3,261 silver dollars, all of which were made from the silver mined in that area.

The little wedding chapel has apparently been part of the hotel from the very beginning.  We were married by the local "Pistol Packin' Preacher of Storey County" (look closely at the photos for his side arm).

We had an amazing time.  We loved the old west theme, and even brought along some extra costumes.
